K2 recently earnt and is well underway with a £276,000 contract at Wrexham University. We’ve been tasked with providing an avant-garde science museum with simultaneous air conditioning in all areas – delivering a perfect climate all year round.
‘Techniquest’ on Glyndwr University Campus is a state-of-the-art educational project with the vision of creating an interactive and unique experience for all visitors. Our aim is to make it a comfortable one too.
Spatial Office Environments appointed K2 from a selection of renowned air conditioning specialists to kit out this £2,000,000 venture with the latest HVAC technology. This involves a Daikin variable refrigerant volume (VRV) system, as well as various split and miscellaneous extract systems. The intricate network also includes Daikin direct expansion (DX) condensers to serve two air-handling units (AHU’s).
At K2, our fleet includes a perfect mix of youth and experience. A combination of hunger and wisdom makes K2 the stand-out selection for large-scale projects like this one, as we have proved to be the case on numerous occasions.
Damian Blake, our Projects Manager, said “The project has provided new experiences and learning curbs for our engineers. It’s nearing completion and so far, no problems. We’re all excited to see the final product!”
Techniquest is scheduled to be completed by July 2020, and open to the public soon after.
