We’re understandably very proud to have now been made a Daikin D1+ partner in acknowledgement of our hard work and high standards. Daikin is a world-leading multi-national manufacturer of top quality air conditioning and related products, many of which we use to provide our customers with reliable, efficient and energy-saving heating and ventilation solutions. There are only around 80 air conditioning system contractors with this level of Daikin partner status and having achieved this, we are viewed amongst ‘the best of the best’.
How K2 achieved Daikin D1+ Partner Status as an Air Conditioning System Supplier
These kinds of partner awards are not given to just any air conditioning system supplier or repair service. For heating and ventilation companies like us, there are strict requirements on top of the usual refrigeration F Gas registration. These requirements are essential in order for us to provide a service to any customer requiring commercial or residential heating and ventilation based on air source heat pump air conditioning systems. The most critical of these is to comply with the very stringent EU rules around refrigerant gases (‘F’ gases); two of which are prevalent in air conditioning systems. Only F Gas certified engineers may legally install, maintain, repair and dispose of equipment containing F gases. At K2, however, we have gone one stage further in order to achieve the status of a company that complies with the very highest standards for F Gas legislation – not only for the peace of mind for our customers but also to satisfy Daikin. We had to apply and pass as a ‘Refcom Elite’ company, and to do this we had to prove that we are fully accountable for and thorough in our handling of any equipment containing F Gas. We had to demonstrate that our training programmes are comprehensive, on-going and up-to-date on legislation. We also had to show that our service is committed to and carries out the responsible handling of any appliance containing F Gas - at all stages of air conditioning installation, repair and maintenance. We had to provide assurances that, where relevant, our disposal of these appliances is both ethical and minimises impact on the environment. Additionally, once ‘Refcom Elite’ status is achieved, there is on-going auditing and compliance. There are thousands of Gas Safe registered individuals and companies but only around 220 registered as ‘Refcom Elite’.
